To avoid media hype, just get your forecasts directly
from your local NWSFO website. It has the basic forecast and raw data that everyone else uses anyway, but without ads and
thus any incentive to hype things. You can also read the forecast discussions there, which give an indication as to estimated
accuracy of the forecast, and hourly point forecasts for your specific neighborhood.
